Photo from Easter 1985
This photo is of a family gathering at Easter in 1985 at our family home on 202 Parkway Drive in Erie.
Gordon, Aida and Joshua were living in Hershey, Pa. Joshua is probably a year old!
Linda, Erin and I were living in Budd Lake, New Jersey. Erin was 6 months old.
Pam and Jeff were living in Erie and that summer moved to Seneca, Pa ( near Oil City). Pam took the picture, that is why she’s not in it. Thanks, Pam great photograph!
Mom was in long term care after her surgery. Dad and Doug lived at home in Erie.
Our home was a special place at Easter, we loved to get dressed up in our finest for Church on Easter Sunday. It was always cold in Erie in April. We would come home and take photos in the yard on the Second Street side.
Look at those hats! Topcoats too! I have to give my Mom and Dad a lot of credit. Then we sat down to a great Easter dinner. Grandpa and Grandma Carl Zson usually joined us too. Grandpa was the photographer and he took movies too. Dinner was ham, scalloped potatoes vegetable, jello salad, rolls and dessert.
On Easter morning when we got up we searched the house for Easter baskets that the Easter bunny brought.
When we learned to play musical instruments we would have a recital for our guests, Grandma and Grandpa Carlson.
These are great memories, what family and holidays are all about. Now sixty years later we are on our own with children and grandchildren doing our own traditions, making more memories!
