Our Liberties ought to be the only concern of our political leaders. Not how they can be restricted, taken away or taxed. By deficit spending they are taking some of our liberty.
Come to think of it, most of what all levels of government are doing are restricting our liberties. In most cases we don’t need government interference from one level over the next. Local, state and federal governments each have their place.
Local governments should have the most influence on our daily lives, ie, education and law enforcement. Followed by the state, and lastly the federal government.
I think the situation is reversed in our society today The Federal government tells the state and local governments what to do and how to do it and uses money to exert the control. And the states and local governments take the money and give in to the federal government.
We the people need to guide our local and state leaders to listen to our demands, do as we say and flip the script on the federal government. Don’t take the money and do what we want. It might cost more taxes but at least we would have control.
